Shoes.......
Many go in as normal as can be,
When all of a sudden,
There is no glee.
Dreams are shattered,
Families are torn,
Once the happiest place in the world turned into the monstrous face on earth.
The adults sob and mourn the lost ones,
As the children cry to their heart’s desire.
Faces so familiar lost in the sunset.
The only pieces left of them were the objects on their feet,
Designed for comfort and style,
Were the only items for the dead to rest in peace.

Holocaust. Yeah. We had to read a book about someone who went through it as a 14-year-old-child when it started. Also, we had to annotate, and what I said wasn't so nice to others. The book is called "Night" by Elie Wiesel.
Here's some of the annotating(SPOILERS! By the way, all the quotes here are my annotations, and I put the authors last name and page number there for what page I wrote it on. Sorry for any confusion):
